John 16:33 — …”I have told you this so that through me you may have peace. In the world you will have trouble, but be courageous—I have overcome the world!”
Romans 8:16-17 —The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. Now if we are children, we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with the Messiah—if, in fact, we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
1 Peter 2:20-21 –What good does it do if, when you sin, you patiently receive punishment for it? But if you suffer for doing good and receive it patiently, you have God’s approval.
This is, in fact, what you were called to do, because: The Messiah also suffered for you and left an example for you to follow in his steps.
1 Peter 4:12-13 –Dear friends, do not be surprised by the fiery ordeal that is taking place among you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. Instead, because you are participating in the sufferings of the Messiah, keep on rejoicing, so that you may be glad and shout for joy when his glory is revealed.
